Hubo un éxito de participación en la fiesta del garbanzo.

The 20th International Congress on Nitrogen Fixation will be held in Granada (Spain) from 3rd to 7th September, 2017. This meeting will cover a wide range of disciplines including evolution, ecology, genomics, biochemistry, physiology, crop production and engineering and novel uses of “Nitrogen fixation for Agriculture and the Environment”. It will comprise plenary talks by international experts as well as oral and poster presentations chosen from submitted abstracts. We will offer travel grants for young researchers to strongly encourage them to attend.We are looking forward to seeing you in Granada.

La Universidad de Valladolid en el Campus de Palencia organiza la Jornada «La importancia de las legumbres en el sector agroalimnetario» que se celebrará el 30 de Noviembre.

El próximo día 8 de Noviembre tendrá lugar la jornada «Semillas nutritivas para un futuro sostenible» organizada por la Escuela Familiar Agraria El Soto de Chauchina (Granada) y orientada a alumnos de Formación Profesional del ciclo de Producciones Agroecológicas, si bien está concebida como un acto de puertas abiertas. Este consistirá en una mesa redonda titulada «Las legumbres: un alimento saludable, un cultivo sostenible» en el que participarán los ponentes Manolo Cala, Jorge Alvarez de Toledo, Alfonso Clemente, Maria Luisa Lorenzo y Juan Francisco Romero. Posteriomente, tendrá lugar la denominada Exposición de legumbres del mundo.

El dia 19 de Octubre tendrá lugar una mesa redonda en Segovia, organizada por la Asociación Andrés Laguna para la Promoción de las Ciencias de la Salud, donde participarán como ponentes Nicolás Armenteros, Mercedes Martín Pedrosa y Emilio Gómez Izquierdo y abordarán aspectos relativos a la producción y comercialización de legumbres. The International Legume Society and the Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica António Xavier of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa cordially invites you to join us at the Second International Legume Society Conference, scheduled the 11^th to the 14^th October, 2016 at the Tróia resort, the vicinity of Lisbon, in Portugal.

In a world urgently requiring more sustainable agriculture, food security and healthier diets the demand for legume crops is on the rise. This growth is fostered by the increasing need for plant protein and for sound agricultural practices that are more adaptable and more environmentally sensitive. Food, feed, fiber and even fuel are all products that come from legumes – plants that grow with low nitrogen inputs and in harsh environmental conditions. The Second Legume Society Conference will be held during 2016 – the United Nations’ International Year of Pulses.

The conference will address the following themes: Legume Quality and Nutrition; Farming Systems/Agronomy; Abiotic and Biotic Stress Responses and Breeding; Legume Genetic Resources; and New “Omics” Resources for Legumes. The health and environment benefits as well as the marketing of legumes will be transversal topics throughout the conference. Special attention will be given to foster the interaction of researchers and research programs with different stakeholders including farmers and farmer associations, seed/feed and food industries, and consumers. For this, the conference will also be the site of the Final Meeting of ABSTRESS EU-FP7 project, the Annual Meeting of LEGATO and EUROLEGUME EU-FP7 projects; and the final dissemination events of MEDILEG, REFORMA FP7-ERANets. Finally the 4^th International Ascochyta Workshop  will take place the two days prior to the ILS conference.
